About us

Hello, I’m Tina, an integrative counsellor at Taking Stock Counselling, specialising in domestic abuse, historical sexual abuse, and LGBTQ+ issues. Since 2014, I have worked closely with individuals who have experienced trauma, helping them navigate their healing journey with empathy and understanding.

I understand that seeking counselling can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with deeply personal experiences. My approach is warm, non-judgemental, and tailored to your unique needs. I integrate different therapeutic techniques to ensure our work together is meaningful and effective for you.

How I Work

Domestic Abuse Recovery – Whether you're currently experiencing abuse or healing from past trauma, I provide a safe and supportive space to explore your emotions, rebuild self-esteem, and regain control.

Historical Sexual Abuse – I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to help you process past experiences, manage triggers, and move forward at your own pace.

LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counselling – I understand the unique challenges that LGBTQ+ individuals may face, from identity struggles to discrimination and relationship concerns. My practice is a safe and inclusive space where you can be your authentic self.

Relationships & Attachment – Our relationships shape so much of who we are. Whether you’re struggling with trust, patterns of unhealthy relationships, or attachment difficulties, we can work together to explore and improve your connections with others.

General Life Challenges – Sometimes, life can feel overwhelming, even without a specific trauma. If you're feeling stuck, lost, or unsure about your next steps, counselling can offer clarity, coping strategies, and a space to talk things through without judgement.

As a qualified online therapist, I offer counselling via video or phone, allowing you to access support in a way that suits you best.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
