BA (Hons), MBACP. Integrative therapist

About me

I have a degree in counselling and psychotherapy from the University of Warwick. This is in integrative therapy, but I lean very much into the humanistic styles. I have a background in psychology and family support.

Areas of special Interests

  • Menopause - Is menopause getting you down? I am passionate about supporting women through this, sometimes difficult, stage of life. I know it can feel all consuming and confusing. The physical and emotional difficulties sometimes feel as if they will never end. Do you feel that no-one understands what you are going through? Between, hot flushes, itchy ears, dry skin, irritability, relationship strains and memory, (and many more!) it can feel overwhelming and sometimes, downright horrendous. I offer you support and a safe place to talk through these issues and see the light at the end of this period of your life.
  • LGBTQIA+ - do you feel othered? Or not accepted for being authentically you? I have been an ally for longer than I can remember! I will not judge or try to change you. I am here to listen and support you through whatever difficulties you might be facing..
  • Kinship care - Do you look after a young family member? I have been a kinship carer for 23 years, I understand the highs and lows around this amazing job you are doing. It can be incredibly isolating looking after a child unexpectedly, life interruptions, adapting to changes, family issues. I will help you process all those feelings and support you through this difficult yet amazing journey.
  • Womens Issues
  • Relationship stresses and issues

I also work with a wider range of issues and ages,  from 16+.

My space is comfortable,  welcoming and safe.  I keep you and your experiences at the heart of all the work we do.  I believe in tackling issues from the root up. I work at a pace that suits you and put you at the heart of every moment we are working together. I believe in you, and I am sure that at the end of our time together, you will also believe in you and will see a brighter future ahead.

If you have any questions or queries, please get in touch, I am happy to answer anything with no pressure or expectations.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
