About me
At The Play Therapy Haven in Dunblane, I offer counselling and creative therapies for children and young people aged 3-15 in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment. Through play, creativity, and evidence-based approaches, children are supported to explore their feelings, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies at a pace that feels right for them.
I work with children experiencing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, anger, trauma, grief, school worries, and big life changes. Every child is unique, so therapy is always tailored to their individual needs and ways of expressing themselves.
Parents and caregivers are such an important part of the journey. I offer guidance and support to help families better understand their child’s needs, strengthen connection at home, and feel more confident in supporting emotional wellbeing. Alongside individual therapy, I also provide parent consultations and attachment-focused interventions.
The Play Therapy Haven is led by me, Suze Mackintosh, a BAPT Registered and PSA Accredited Child and Adolescent Therapist with over 20 years’ experience working with children and families. I am also a certified AutPlay Therapist and Parent-Child Attachment Practitioner, and I draw on a range of approaches including play and creative arts, CBT, neuroscience, and Internal Family Systems.
Above all, The Play Therapy Haven exists to offer children and families warmth, kindness, and practical support as they find their way through life’s challenges together.
