About me

I believe that having a calm and welcoming space to explore what matters can make a real difference.

Sometimes what we need most is a place where we can simply be ourselves; a space that feels comfortable, accepting and free from judgement. I offer counselling in a way that allows you to talk openly, feel deeply heard and explore whatever may be bringing you to therapy. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life changes or simply feeling stuck, I provide a supportive environment where we can work together to better understand your experiences and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include an FD Degree in Integrative Counselling, a PGCE in Secondary Education, a BA (Hons) in Design, Counselling Children and Young People Level 3, ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, and ICF ACC Coaching Accreditation.

Alongside my counselling practice, I have over twenty years' experience working with children and young people in educational settings, including those who are neurodiverse. This experience has given me a deep understanding of development, relationships, resilience and emotional wellbeing, and continues to inform my trauma-informed approach today. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, confidence issues, relationship difficulties, suicide and self-harm.

My approach centres around empathic understanding, collaboration and compassion. Throughout this approach I weave a person centered core approach alongside CBT & psychodynamic elements in a creative way. With over twenty years’ experience working with children and young people and those who are neurodiverse I implement a trauma informed practice.

I have worked with a range of client presentations including suicide and self-harm, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, confidence and relationships.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
