About me

I understand how difficult it can feel reaching out for help especially if you haven’t been for counselling before, and it can be hard to know what to expect. By just looking at counselling today, you’ve already made a first step, and I hope you find the right help for you wherever this path may lead.

I can offer counselling on a short or long-term basis to adults, either online – in the comfort of your own home, in person at my practice in Poole, or on the phone.

I am experienced in helping people with a wide variety of mental health challenges such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress, trauma, family issues and narcissistic abuse amongst other experiences.

I have a deep understanding of healing from emotional abuse, feeling ‘othered’ as well as the coping mechanisms and post-traumatic stress that may develop from this.

I work with clients to build a strong sense of self, so that they can build a life on their own terms rather than based upon the expectations of others or pressures from society. I work collaboratively to help you reconnect with your authentic self, so that you may feel empowered to navigate your way forward in life with confidence.

I believe in building a trusting relationship, which is the foundation of our work together. I offer an empathic, non-judgemental space, where we can understand your needs.  Many of us want a space to feel seen and heard, for our experience to be witnessed, so that we can process the thoughts and feelings coming up, and to find the answers that lie deep within ourselves.

I believe everyone is totally unique with individual life experiences, choices and perspectives. I’ve worked with clients with different lifestyles and backgrounds as well as a variety of mental health diagnoses.

I offer counselling tailored to your needs and preferences and draw upon a wide range of approaches. I work holistically with mind, body and soul, offering holistic healing practices with clients who are interested in this, including parts work, EFT & Energy Psychology, Conscious integration techniques, meditation, hypnotherapy, inner child work and creative therapies.

As a counsellor, I don’t try to fix through giving advice, but rather empower you to find the answers that are already within yourself, so that you can make positive changes and attract the people and situations that are aligned with yourself.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within their ethical framework to provide a good standard of practice and care.

Benefits of counselling:

Understand how childhood and past experiences have influenced you.

Explore your relationship with yourself and challenge any limiting core beliefs.

Develop further self-awareness and reconnect with your intuition.

Bring awareness to unconscious patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Process and release feelings such as sadness, shame, guilt, regret, anger.

Empowerment - make decisions and navigate life with confidence.

Can you afford Counselling?

I believe counselling should be available to everyone. Please do not let cost be a barrier to you accessing help when you need it the most.

Based upon client circumstances, I do offer reduced rates, so please do ask.

After an initial consultation call, my rates are as follows:

A 50-minute session is £45.

If you are a trainee counsellor looking to fulfil your counselling hours, I offer discounts to students, call/message me for further information.

If you are looking for an effective counsellor that can work holistically then please contact me.

How I work:

I provide private 1-1 sessions to adults 18+ locally in Dorset, and remotely online.

I will offer you a confidential, safe space to discuss issues impacting your life, and together, we can explore challenging thoughts and feelings, so that you can clarify and process what's really going on for you.

Upon enquiry, I will contact you to arrange an initial consultation which will give us the opportunity to explore your needs and for you to ask me any questions. If, following the initial consultation, you would like to go ahead with counselling sessions we can arrange a suitable time and setting.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
