About me

Website: sunitascounsellingroom.com

I work with adults, children and young people aged 6–17, and couples, providing a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and be yourself.

I’m passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health and recognising that our ethnicity, culture, upbringing and life experiences can all shape how we understand ourselves and cope with life. I want counselling to feel like a place where these experiences can be explored openly, honestly and without judgement.

Life can be challenging. Work and career pressures, relationships, family responsibilities, financial worries and the wider pressures of today’s economy can all affect our mental and emotional wellbeing. Sometimes we simply keep going, even when we’re struggling underneath.

Counselling offers you the opportunity to pause, reflect and make sense of what’s happening. I listen carefully and work collaboratively with you, while gently challenging thoughts, behaviours or patterns when appropriate. I won’t pressure you or tell you what you should do. Instead, we’ll work at a pace that feels safe for you, while keeping sight of what you want to achieve.

My approach is solution-focused and goal-oriented, helping you identify what matters to you, build on your strengths and develop practical ways to move forward. Whether you’re an adult, a young person or a couple, my aim is to help you feel heard, understood and empowered to make meaningful changes.

You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to ask for support. Sometimes, taking that first step is the beginning of feeling more like yourself again.
