About me

As a therapeutic counsellor, my focus is on seeing you and working uniquely with you as an individual. Working in a way where you feel supported, comfortable and heard to bring about the changes you wish for.

From lived experience I understand how without warning, and at any age life events can cause us to feel unhappy and overwhelmed. Adverse childhood experience/s, trauma exposure from this time can prevent us from living freely as adults.  It affects how we see ourselves and can impact on the relationships we engage in with others.  Coping strategies we used to survive can become unhelpful and/or unhealthy habits having an impacting on our wellbeing and relationships.

Reaching out for support can not only be one of the biggest and sometimes bravest steps you ever take but also the most important one.

Whether we work face to face or online, I will provide you with a safe and confidential space. I will sit with you, as you identify the things that have led you to reaching out for support.   It is a space free of judgement or reprimanded where hopefully you will feel safe to share your issues and for us to work towards you achieving your goal.

If you feel I could help you then please get in touch, it would be a privilege to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
