Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

My approach is client-centred, meaning I tailor my techniques and strategies to meet the unique needs and goals of each person I work with. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative counselling and am able to utilise a variety of different approaches into my practice including person-centred, CBT, ACT, Gestalt, TA, and mindefulness-based therapy. I aim to help my clients develop coping skills, gain insights, and make positive changes in their lives.
With over 30 years of experience as a Secondary School Teacher, Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people and adults. My care has equipped me with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals at various stages of their lives, particularly during adolescence. My Special needs training has made me skilled in supporting clients with diverse learning needs and neurodivergent conditions.
My specialities include working with teenagers, supporting clients with anxiety, depression, grief, eating disorders, behavioural issues, self-esteem and mental health difficulties. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgemental space where clients can openly express their thoughts and feelings, as well as empowering them to overcome obstacles and achieve well-being. My approach is holistic, and through active listening and collaborative problem-solving, I aim to empower my clients to build resilience and achieve their personal goals.
