About me
Hi, I’m Stewart.
I’m a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and coach offering therapy for adults online and in person in Cottingham, East Yorkshire.
Many of the people I work with are capable, thoughtful people who are used to coping on their own. From the outside, they often appear dependable, successful, and “fine”, but underneath may be struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, anger, relationship difficulties, loss of confidence, or a growing sense that life has become heavy and hard work.
Sometimes there is no obvious crisis. Just a feeling of being stuck, disconnected, exhausted, or not quite yourself anymore.
Therapy offers an opportunity to slow things down, make sense of what is happening, and develop a different relationship with yourself. Together, we can begin to understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work towards greater confidence, clarity, and emotional wellbeing.
My approach is friendly, down-to-earth, and rooted in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy. I am interested in the patterns we fall into, where they come from, and how they continue to influence our relationships, work, identity, and self-worth.
You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You also do not need to be “good at talking” to benefit from it.
Alongside private practice, I have over 20 years’ experience supporting people through professional development, coaching, and personal growth. This gives me a strong understanding of pressure, change, self-doubt, and the challenges many people quietly carry.
I offer both short and longer-term work depending on your needs. Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £55.
If something here resonates with you, feel free to get in touch for a no-obligation chat.
