About me
The healing nature of a quality relationship with a close friend or loved one lies at the heart of self-development, that said, sometimes talking to a friend or loved one is not what we need. Sometimes we need a space simply for ourselves, somewhere where we can be truly honest without the worry of what we say affecting others. A place where our needs unashamedly come first. I can provide that space. Therapy represents a place to share whatever is on your mind in a non-judgmental, honest environment. Sometimes simply talking is a good place to start. Often feeling heard can be a release in itself.
Every person is unique. My goal is to meet you as you are and then together discover what you need to move forward.
Training, qualifications & experience
As well as experience of practicing within an NHS setting I have a background of 30 years working with children and adults in a pastoral role. A lot of my work has been helping people to make sense of their life and accept the things that they can change as well as the things they cannot. I trained as an Integrative Counsellor which enables me to draw on a range of theories to provide individually tailored support to best meet your needs.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
You have already made the first, most difficult step in even considering therapy and I offer you my support in taking it further. During our first session we can start to explore what brought you to this point and discover whether we are a good match to work through this together. This will be your therapy and you will decide where it will go.
