At a young age, you made unconscious plans which determined the best way to survive life; this was reinforced by parents and caregivers, and influenced by events. As an adult, you often respond to the here and now reality in an outdated way. THIS CAN BE CHANGED. I will help you to identify how your current strategies, perhaps necessary in the past, may not be serving you well today.
I believe that the relationship between the client and the therapist is crucial to the success of therapy. I provide a safe, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential setting; a place where we can fully determine what is really going on beneath your defences; defences which may have protected you in the past, but may be impeding you today.
We need to become more familiar with what is going on inside us; we must learn to recognize our feelings & motivations. Although we are never free from some of the unhelpful influences of the past, we can work to minimize them through conscious exploration, insight, and attempting to adopt more positive behaviours and realistic ways of thinking. We will question the whispering critical voice which overlays your actions. Fundamentally, we will be working together to help you to achieve control and inner peace in your life.
I have a deep faith in a person’s inner resources. Therapy is an excellent way to achieve emotional well-being, which is something that every individual has a right to.
I am a fully qualified, experienced and BACP registered counsellor.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
