About me

Seeking out therapy can be a daunting and overwhelming decision and I acknowledge you for being here. Taking the first step in your healing can be scary when you don’t know what to expect. In my therapy practice, I aim to gently navigate you through the therapy process so that you may find relief, insight, and peace from whatever is troubling you.

I offer a warm, empathetic space where you are welcome to explore whatever you bring to therapy. Wherever you find yourself on your journey, I would like to support you in discovering, or rediscovering, your truest self. I believe the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to the work we do, and I practise in a way that keeps our relationship at the centre of the therapy

As a qualified integrative therapist, I draw on a variety of approaches, tailoring our work to your specific needs. I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space to support personal growth and deeper self-awareness. Therapy is your time, and a space where you can feel genuinely heard.

My aim is to empower you to develop coping skills, resilience, and greater self-understanding. Having been on a therapeutic journey myself, I truly believe in the positive and transformative power of self-exploration and vulnerability. I will support you in moving towards your goals in your own time, alongside you every step of the way

I have a keen interest in trauma-informed work and continue to develop my skills, knowledge, and training to support clients in this area.

FIRST SESSION

Following your initial enquiry, we would arrange a 15-minute complimentary introductory call at a time that suits you. If your preferred communication style is email, we can have our introduction that way. This introduction gives me the chance to understand your therapy needs and goals, and to explore whether I am the right fit to support you with the challenges you are currently facing.

If we decide to work together following our introductory conversation, we will then schedule your first 50-minute session. This initial session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and to explore in more depth what is currently going on for you. We will also complete a client assessment together, which will be sent to you in advance so you know what to expect.

The assessment offers a deeper understanding of your personal history, current challenges, and your hopes and expectations for therapy.

This first session is also a space for you to ask any questions you may have, and for us to agree on how we will work together in order to support you in achieving your therapeutic goals.

I am a registered member with the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework. I attend regular supervision to ensure I work safely, ethically, and to the best of my ability for each of my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
