About me

Silence can be difficult... its good to talk. I welcome you in a non-judgmental, safe space to express your fears, worries, and stresses, to disclose issues which may leave you unsure which way to turn. I would like to help you gain some clarity, and work towards effecting change. In the aftermath of significant life-altering events or shocks, counselling can offer you a structured avenue to unravel the complexities of your personal situation. You may have never experienced being truly yourself and voicing aloud what is causing you confusion and pain. Talking issues through with me can be a first step.

I welcome issues including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, sexual abuse and rape, relationship issues, men's mental health, grief and loss, anything which is making life difficult for you to navigate. If it is important to you, or is making life seem difficult, then it is important to me.

I know life can throw you a curve ball sometimes - shame, fear, embarrassment and confusion can prevent you from seeking a safe place to explore how to overcome issues which you are facing. I am here to walk this journey with you and help you uncover your own hidden abilities to move forward.

I have pursued additional qualifications in the areas of rape and sexual abuse to ensure I can navigate these delicate topics with care and sensitivity. Understanding how to engage with trauma thoughtfully—while minimizing the risk of re-triggering clients—is an essential part of this work.

Working with clients facing eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, purging, overeating, orthorexia, or pica, requires specialized training. These sensitive and complex issues often stem from deeply personal experiences that can be ongoing and challenging to face alone. Recovery from an eating disorder is not a race but a journey. Remember to be kind to yourself and celebrate even the smallest steps forward.

I also support clients dealing with Boarding School Syndrome. Did you know that being away from family during critical developmental years can significantly influence emotional well-being? Boarding School Syndrome describes the difficulties some individuals may encounter, such as struggles with trust, forming emotional connections, or managing perfectionism.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling
  • Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Counselling Theory and Therapeutic Practice
  • Level 5 Advanced Diploma
  • Level 4 Diploma in Rape and Sexual Abuse
  • Post-Qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders

Before training as a person-centred counsellor, I gained extensive experience working with individuals in crisis. My background includes roles in homelessness services, debt support, child protection, and advocacy. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how unpredictable and challenging life can be.

In addition to my core counselling qualifications, I have completed numerous hours of advanced training and further certifications in areas such as rape and sexual abuse, eating disorders, and Boarding School Syndrome.
