Creative Arts Psychotherapist - HCPC Registered

About me

Helping young people make sense of their feelings, experiences and relationships through creativity.

Finding the right support can feel daunting, especially when your child may be struggling to explain how they are feeling. I'm a HCPC Registered Creative Arts Therapist with experience in CAMHS and School settings. I offer individual therapy to children and teenagers in and around Worcester, with online sessions available where appropriate.

Creative Arts Therapy offers individuals different ways to explore their experiences; this can be through conversation, creating characters, playing games, drawing and painting and many other creative methods. Whatever we use is led by them and what they enjoy using.

I offer free online consultations for parents, carers and young people to discuss their concerns and find out more about my approach and see how/if it may be helpful for them.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified with a Masters Degree in Dramatherapy (Creative Arts Psychotherapy) and I regularly attend training courses to keep up to date with my skills and knowledge. I have a great amount of experience in working with young people who are neurodivergent; as well as those who are suffering with self-harm, anxiety, depression, social and relational difficulties and trauma.

I began my career working within the NHS in CAMHS with young people who were high risk, and from there I decided to open my private practice. I also work with young people in foster care, and within schools. My drive to work privately came from seeing how many young people were falling through the net while working in CAMHS and how much support was needed within the community.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
