About me

Are you a parent that's worrying about your child or teenager's mental health? Or are you a young person that's struggling right now?

I am a fully qualified, integrative counsellor working exclusively with young people aged 11 -21 years. I work from premises in Sevenoaks and Longfield. I also work online with young people 16+. I work with a wide range of issues including;

  • Anxiety
  • Low mood
  • Low self-esteem
  • Intrusive thoughts
  • Self harm
  • Family/ relationships issues
  • Gender identity /sexuality
  • Issues relating to Autism & ADHD

I am told by clients that I have a calm and gentle manner, and I am very flexible in my approach. I believe that traditional 'talk' therapy can be quite intimidating for some young people, so we might use creative interventions such as crafts, games or activities to help the young person explore their worries.

I am a member of BACP, have an enhanced DBS and full public indemnity insurance.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have many years of experience working with children and young people - as a nanny, in a nursery, in a SEN school and as a support worker for young people with disabilities.

Once my own children were a bit older, I  decided to go back to college and train as a counsellor, and I knew straightaway that I wanted to specialise in working with young people. Throughout my training, I volunteered in the busy counselling department at North Kent College and continue to do this alongside my private practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
