About me
Hi, I’m Sophie — a Person-Centered Counsellor specialising in self-esteem.
I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can talk about whatever feels heavy or hard to carry. Whether you're struggling with self-doubt, low confidence, or feeling disconnected from yourself, I’m here to work with you.
Low self-esteem can affect many areas of life. It might leave you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns like people-pleasing or finding it hard to say no. You may feel unseen, unheard, or like you’ve lost touch with the person you used to be — or want to become.
I believe that the answers you’re looking for are already within you. Therapy can be a space to reconnect with yourself, explore what’s going on beneath the surface, and begin to move toward the version of you that feels more true and grounded.
In our sessions, I’ll work closely with whatever you bring. There’s no agenda or deadline — just space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. I’ll help you notice patterns, reflect on what’s coming up, and gently guide you toward insight and growth.
I also offer psychoeducation when it feels helpful — for example, we might look at attachment styles, the nervous system, or ways to manage anxiety through self-regulation.
Counselling can feel daunting, and I understand that. That’s why I work in a trauma-informed way, always aiming to create a calm, grounded environment where you feel safe and supported. I’ll check in with you to make sure you feel regulated before leaving each session.
Humour is important to me too — therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. If you want to share joyful or light moments, you’re absolutely welcome to.
If you’d like to know more or have any questions, feel free to reach out. And just a quick note — if you don’t hear back from me, please check your junk or spam folder.
Take Care,
Sophie.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
