About me

Hi There,

My name is Sophie and I am a therapeutic counsellor dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I came into this work because, like many of us, I’ve known what it feels like to carry pain alone. That experience shaped my belief that healing happens in safe, compassionate spaces - where we don’t have to pretend, or hold it all together.

I believe that healing begins with connection: to ourselves, to our past, and to those around us.

Whether you’re dealing with intrusive thoughts, low mood, difficulties in relationships, or questions around who you are, I’m here to help you make sense of what’s going on and support you in finding a way forward.

My Approach and how we will work together is integrative, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic models - tailoring sessions to meet your unique needs. I do not believe that therapy is a "one size fits all" and that different techniques, theories will work with some clients.. and not with others, its my job to work with you to understand what will work best for you

Sometimes we may work more methodically by recognising old patterns and behaviours such as black/white thinking, worst case scenarios, where Cognitive Behaviour Therapy may have a place.

Sometimes it's about sitting with what's happening right now. Sometimes it's about focusing on moving forward..whichever feels right for you i'll work along side you and support you through whatever comes up in those moments.

The Therapeutic Relationship ; Building trust and rapport are the building blocks of a good therapeutic relationship, and helping you feel at ease is really important to me. I also find that, when it feels right, humour can naturally have a place in the therapy room, helping to ease tension, strengthen connection, and make the process feel more relaxed and human.

Finding that right connection with your counsellor is vital for your own progress, please feel free to contact me for an initial free phone call to see if you feel were a good fit for each other.

If you’re thinking about taking that first step, I’ll be here to walk alongside you. You don’t need to have it all worked out—we can just start where you are and go from there.
