About me
I am an integrative counsellor and therapist offering a grounded, confidential and non-judgemental space for adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or finding that the ways they have learned to cope are no longer working for them.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety or low self-esteem, experiencing difficulties in your relationships, dealing with loss or change, or trying to understand patterns that seem to keep repeating. I have extensive experience supporting people struggling with addiction, as well as family members and loved ones affected by it. My approach is trauma-informed, and I understand that what we experience in the past can influence how we feel, relate to others and cope in the present.
As an integrative therapist, I don't believe one approach fits everyone. I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy can give you the space to talk openly, make sense of what you're experiencing and understand yourself and your relationships in a different way.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). Alongside my private practice, my background includes working in senior clinical roles within specialist addiction and mental health services, supporting people with complex and often overlapping difficulties.
You don't need to know exactly what's wrong or what you want to talk about before getting in touch. Sometimes knowing that things don't feel right, or that something needs to change, is enough of a place to begin.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I am also an Advanced Practitioner Member of Addiction Professionals.
My training is integrative and includes person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches, allowing me to adapt the way I work to the individual rather than following one particular model.
Before moving into private practice, I worked for several years within specialist addiction and mental health services, progressing into senior clinical and leadership roles. My professional background has given me experience of working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and with varying levels of complexity.
My experience includes one-to-one therapeutic work, group facilitation, clinical assessment, safeguarding and risk management, as well as working alongside other healthcare professionals and services.
I undertake regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development to support safe and ethical practice.
