About me
Hello! I'm Soirse and I am a Creative Therapist practicing in Islington, London. I help adults and adolescents who are living with the impact of difficult life experiences, struggling with low mood, or feeling disconnected from their authentic identity.
Do you feel constantly on edge, replaying painful memories, or struggling to switch off? Maybe you’re finding it hard to sleep, coping with waves of anger or sadness, or noticing yourself withdraw from people and situations. Sometimes past experiences show up in the present - in your emotions, your relationships, and even how you see yourself - leaving you feeling stuck or disconnected.
I specialise in helping clients navigate…
- Trauma
- ADHD and Autism
- Sense of self and identity struggles
I use a person-centred, creative and analytical therapeutic approach to work with you towards lasting change. I work in a trauma-informed way, prioritising a sense of safety and collaboration in discovering what works for you. In a session we might try and use creative and imaginative methods to explore and express your inner world and experiences.
I am trained and experienced in delivering Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDR is a type of therapy that helps you process difficult memories and emotional pain without having to talk about every detail. It works by helping your brain rewire how it stores trauma - so those memories stop feeling so overwhelming, scary, and present.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Master’s in Drama and Movement Therapy from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (University of London) and I am registered with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council).’’
I have undergone training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have successfully integrated this into my trauma-informed therapy approach.
Alongside my private practice, I work for a charity working with refugee and asylum-seeking people, providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed therapy to children, young people and adults from a variety of backgrounds. Furthermore, I have extensive experience across community, school and hospital settings.
