About me
I warmly welcome you to my profile. Taking the step to begin psychotherapy or counselling can feel significant and sometimes unsettling, and it often brings up many emotions before the work has even started. I want you to know that I see you and recognise the courage it takes to reach out. My aim is to offer a space where you feel supported, understood, and not rushed, a space where we can begin to gently explore what has brought you here and what you may need at this point in your life.
I am a UKCP-accredited integrative psychotherapist and a registered MBACP psychotherapeutic counsellor. I work with adults, young people, and couples, supporting individuals through a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My work often includes supporting people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure of themselves, as well as those navigating anxiety, low mood, trauma, abuse, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.
My journey into psychotherapy has been a deeply personal one. From a young age, my own experiences shaped a strong desire to support others through difficulty and emotional pain. I have always been drawn to being alongside people in their struggles, rather than trying to fix or rush them. Over time, this naturally led me into training as a therapist. I take pride in my work and remain committed to ongoing reflection, learning, and supervision, as I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful and lasting change.
My approach is integrative, with person-centred therapy at its heart. I also draw on existential and attachment-based ideas, which allow space to explore meaning, relationships, identity, and the ways past experiences continue to influence the present. You are always at the centre of the work, and I value you leading the process. I will meet you where you are and work collaboratively with you at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
I am a British South Asian Muslim woman, and this lived experience allows me to work sensitively with individuals who may be navigating cultural identity, faith, family expectations, and belonging within a Western context. I understand the complexities that can arise from balancing different cultures, feeling unheard within intergenerational relationships, and carrying the weight of stigma around mental health. This awareness is something I naturally hold in mind in my work, whether these themes are spoken about directly or sit quietly beneath the surface.
Alongside this, I have extensive experience supporting individuals who have experienced trauma and abuse. My intention is always to offer a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, respectful, and grounded, where you can begin to make sense of your inner world with compassion rather than judgement.
If you are considering therapy, I invite you to reach out so we can explore whether working together feels right for you. You do not need to have everything figured out. Sometimes beginning with uncertainty is exactly where the work starts.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have completed an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy, qualifying me to work with both adults and young people. I have completed all components of a Postgraduate Diploma and am a qualified psychotherapist. I am registered with the BACP and am an accredited member of the UKCP as an integrative psychotherapist working with adults and young people. I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Counselling and a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Psychology, which has provided a strong foundation for understanding emotional development, relationships, and the wider social context of mental health.
I have been working in the psychotherapy field since 2017 and have gained experience across a range of counselling and mental health settings in Birmingham. A significant part of my clinical experience includes working at Solar, a service that supports children and young people who have experienced trauma. Within this role, I worked therapeutically with young people presenting with complex emotional needs, often linked to trauma, abuse, or difficult family circumstances. My work involved offering a safe and consistent therapeutic space, supporting emotional expression, and helping young people develop ways to understand and manage their feelings.
At Solar, safeguarding and risk awareness were central to my role. I worked with young people who were at times at high risk of harm and followed clear safeguarding procedures, liaising with the wider multidisciplinary team when concerns arose. This included working alongside CAMHS colleagues as part of the wider network of services available through Solar. My role required careful clinical judgement, clear documentation, and an ability to balance empathy with appropriate professional boundaries.
Alongside my work at Solar, I have also worked within counselling centres such as St Martin’s and Newman Health and Wellbeing, supporting both adult and young people clients with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I also work in private practice, offering therapy to adults and young people both in person and online. Across all settings, my clinical work is grounded in an integrative, person-centred approach, with a strong focus on validation, safety, and building a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
Alongside the areas already mentioned, I also work with a range of other emotional and psychological concerns. This includes difficulties with self-esteem, identity, confidence, relationship challenges, family and intergenerational issues, grief and loss, life transitions, stress, burnout, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I also support individuals who struggle with boundaries, people-pleasing, emotional regulation, and making sense of past experiences that continue to affect them in the present.
You do not need to fit into a particular category to come to therapy. Often people arrive with a general sense that something does not feel right, and part of the work is gently understanding this together in a way that feels safe and validating.

I am a British South Asian Muslim woman, and this lived experience allows me to work sensitively with individuals who may be navigating identity, culture, faith, and belonging within a Western context. I understand the challenges that can arise around stigma, feeling unheard, and balancing different cultural expectations, particularly within intergenerational relationships. I also recognise how difficult it can be to find a place that feels right when living between two cultures. These considerations are something I naturally hold in mind in my work, regardless of what brings you to therapy.
Alongside this, I have extensive experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, and abuse. I aim to offer a space where you feel understood and respected, without assumptions being made about your background or experiences.
Therapy can feel daunting, especially if it is a new experience. I work at a pace chosen by you, ensuring that the process feels safe and manageable. As a person-centred therapist, my focus is always on you and your wellbeing. You are the expert in your own lived experience, and I see therapy as a collaborative journey where we work together, with you leading the way.
