About me

I offer  Telephone, Zoom, Teams,FaceTime , and In-person therapy sessions .

I am an experienced, Senior Accredited BACP registered psychotherapist ,currently working with adults and young people over 18.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential counselling relationship where your feelings, thoughts and emotions are at the centre of our work together

I am qualified to Degree level in Person Centred Counselling, which means that I concentrate on you as an individual and your needs, however I draw on my extensive knowledge and experience of other this and other therapeutic approaches to best suit what your needs are at the time.
Most importantly, I hope my down to earth, yet professional approach will enable you to relax and put you at ease, which is particularly helpful when disclosing and processing difficult life experiences.

I know that when you feel depressed, anxious, angry, sad, fearful, confused, undervalued, unloved or unable to cope, picking up the phone can be a daunting task. This is quite normal and very usual and I hope that you will find me sensitive enough to your feelings to help you make sense of what is going on for you.

I have worked as a counsellor for 20 years in a variety of places including women's centres , refuges, primary and secondary schools, NHS centres, BUPA/AXA etc Insurance companies, Local Government Employment Assistance Programmes and GP surgeries.

I deal with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, panic attacks , hyper vigilance, hopelessness, self destructive behaviour, loss of sense of self , stress,  menopause and all the emotional challenges that comes with this, , low self worth & self esteem, loss & bereavement, relationship and family Issues, rape, trauma, emotional /sexual abuse, pet bereavement, self harm .

“There are people reading this who have survived not just childhood, but large chunks of their lives by focusing almost exclusively on other peoples wants and needs. , and who, now, are virtual strangers to their OWN wants and needs.
Maybe It's time to get to know yourself.

Reach out , take the risk and start your own personal journey , “you are worth it”.

I am also an EMDR Therapist :

EMDR is an acronym for ‘Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing’.it is one of the leading treatments for PTSD and traumatic memories, recommended by NICE clinical guidelines. It uses Eye Movements to help process traumatic memories in a healthier way. I have used EMDR in many types of trauma and it can be effective with almost any past traumatic experience you feel are still affecting you today. It can also be used for anxiety and phobias.

I am happy to talk to you about any of your counselling needs in further detail, and I offer a free initial 15 minutes consultation.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
