About me
Hi, I'm Simon, a registered MBACP psychodynamic therapist, offering a confidential and supportive space for adults to explore difficulties they may be experiencing in their lives or to get to know themselves better.
Life can sometimes look one way on the outside while feeling quite different on the inside. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationships, loss, self-esteem, trauma, identity issues and experiences of difference, work challenges, or going through a period of change, without fully understanding why you feel the way you do.
Psychodynamic therapy provides an opportunity to slow things down and explore what may be happening beneath the surface. Together, we can look at your experiences, relationships and patterns of thinking and feeling, including how earlier experiences may continue to influence the way you relate to yourself and others today.
My aim is to offer a thoughtful and non-judgemental space in which you can feel heard, understood and able to explore your experiences at your own pace.
I offer both short-term and longer-term psychodynamic therapy, with weekly 50-minute sessions, based on what we agree. Sessions are available in person at locations across London, including Mill Hill, West Hampstead, Islington and Waterloo or online.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed a three-year Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Therapy at The Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling in North London. The Diploma is accredited by both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
As a Registered MBACP therapist, I work within the BACP Ethical Framework. I undertake regular clinical supervision and ongoing continuing professional development as part of my commitment to safe and effective practice.
I have experience working at a community counselling service, supporting adults with a range of emotional, relational and life difficulties.
Alongside my therapy practice, I have experience in management, communications and consultancy. This has given me valuable experience of working with people through demanding business and professional environments, change, uncertainty and periods of transition.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My therapeutic work is informed by psychodynamic thinking, with an interest in relationships, attachment, early experiences and the unconscious patterns that can shape how we understand ourselves and relate to others. I work with adults of all ages experiencing a range of emotional and life difficulties.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. While my approach is psychodynamic, I am interested in you as an individual and what you need from therapy. The therapeutic relationship itself can provide an important opportunity to understand how you experience yourself and others.
If you are considering therapy but are unsure whether it is right for you, I offer a complimentary (no obligation) 20-minute introductory telephone call. This gives us an opportunity to talk briefly about what brings you to therapy and whether we might be a good fit for each other.
You can schedule a call through my website or email me. I look forward to speaking with you.
