About me

Hello, my name is Simon and I am a professionally qualified and experienced counsellor of thirteen years, offering therapy from my practice based in Cobham, Surrey.   I also offer a walk and talk' therapy through the beautiful countryside of Painshill.

If you’re going through a difficult time I can offer support and guidance, working together to equip you with tools and strategies to address the challenges you may be facing.

I have worked at the BRIT school and within corporate busnineses as well as Wimbledon Guild counselling centre working alongside clients through relationship issues, bereavement and depression.

How can counselling help?

Facing problems alone can feel overwhelming and hopeless, but it makes all the difference to talk to an understanding person who will give you their undivided attention and listen without judgement. Someone who will put your worries and fears into perspective – and then work with you to find effective ways to explore and work though your individual situation.

Clients have told me what an overwhelming sense of relief they experience by sharing their problems, after bottling them up and trying to cope alone.

What should I expect from my first session?

I understand that looking for a counsellor can be difficult, in our first session, we will have the opportunity to discuss together what can be achieved through counselling and how I can help you. I am able to meet at a time that's convenient for you, as I am flexible and able to offer appointments both daytime and evenings.

I offer counselling in a peaceful environment where you will be respected and know that our conversations are in the strictest confidence. Everything we do will work towards building self-awareness, insight and understanding to help overcome your problem.

If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call or send me over an email, and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
