About me

Hi! I'm Silvia, a psychodynamic psychotherapist working at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston and online. By the age of 18, I had lived in seven countries. Growing up as a Third Culture Kid made me adaptable and resilient, but it also gave me firsthand experience of what it’s like to feel different, to search for belonging, and to manage uncertainty. These experiences shape my work and help me connect with clients who may be navigating change, identity, or a sense of being misunderstood.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent ten years in the advertising industry, leading teams in demanding, fast-paced environments. That background has given me a real understanding of organisational life, workplace stress, and the ways our professional and personal selves often collide.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic thinking, but I also draw from integrative and humanistic ideas depending on what each client needs. I always lead with empathy first. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions freely without judgement, at your own pace. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you; it’s about helping you make sense of your experiences, recognise your patterns, and feel more grounded in who you are.

I work with adults on a wide range of issues including anxiety, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, and life transitions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters in Psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, achieved in September 2025. Prior to this, I also achieved a Graduate Certificate in Humanistic & Psychodynamic Counselling from Goldsmiths.

Having worked with children in the past, I’ve seen how important emotional regulation and self-understanding are from an early age. This perspective informs the way I support adults who may still be carrying the weight of earlier experiences into their present lives. I have been working with clients for 3.5 years now.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
