About me

Are you struggling with life changes and transitions? If so, I am here to listen and to sensitively support you.

I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor and therapist offering short and long-term therapy for adults, both in-person in Clapham Junction and online. I work with a wide range of adults from across London, particularly in Battersea, Wandsworth, Tooting, Earlsfield & Putney.

As an integrative counsellor I use a range of approaches and modalities to address your needs in the way that best suits you.

I work with a wide range of clients who bring a diverse range of issues to the therapy room.

Are you contemplating a second career, or wanting to study or retire? Are you sad, bereft and finding it hard to adjust to your children going to university?  Do you have a parent with dementia or a serious illness and are overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for them and, at the same time, trying to meet the needs of your stressed children preparing for looming GCSEs and A Levels? Are you craving freedom? Or mourning intimacy?

Any of these feel familiar?

You may be lonely, or in need of someone to talk to.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or unfulfilled. You may be experiencing ongoing conflict in your relationship, struggling with grief, sadness, or exhaustion.

You may be finding it increasingly hard to navigate what feels like an increasingly neurotypical world.

You may be feeling stuck and wanting to bring about changes.

If any of these resonate with you I may well be the counsellor to support you.

What do I offer?

I provide a warm, calm, and empathetic space both in person or online for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, no matter how complex or painful these may be.

I am very interested in relationships and how we communicate with those around us; how we cope with stress in the workplace and juggle the continual demands of family life.

I offer a weekly opportunity for you to talk, share and explore in a confidential and safe space without judgement.  My role is to listen to you, support you to be curious, reflect and self-explore as you try to find meaning in this often confusing and overwhelming world.

Training, qualifications & experience

After a lengthy teaching career of 25 years in a local inner-city state secondary school, I understand the vast impact that work pressures and intense scrutiny place on our mental health as well as on our relationships with our children, partners, and parents.

Having made a career change and completed my three-year BACP Accredited counselling training I now work as a BACP registered integrative therapist.  I am committed to supporting my clients.  I also work locally for an NHS Talking Therapy service.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
