About me

I’m Shehra Ali, a qualified psychotherapist. I help clients make sense of their limiting beliefs by exploring their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours—so they can create positive change in their lives.

It’s okay if you’re not sure where to start.

In therapy, we explore the patterns that keep showing up—thoughts, behaviours, relationships—and where they come from. We talk about what’s not working, the stories you tell yourself, and what might actually be true.

Over time, clients I work with:

Feel less anxious and overwhelmed
Stop people-pleasing and perfectionism
Build better boundaries in work, relationships, and family
Understand their emotions and triggers
Navigate cultural pressure and identity conflicts
Build a healthier relationship with money and self-worth
Feel more confident and capable of making decisions

How I work
My approach is warm, active, and collaborative. I bring curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, and gently reflect things back to help you notice patterns and make sense of what’s going on. I shape the work around your pace and what you need.

I offer a reflective, supportive space where you can understand yourself more fully. I bring in ideas, interpretations, and simple frameworks to help you explore different perspectives and consider new ways of responding.

You’ll have my full attention and care. Together, we’ll look at what’s getting in the way, what you need, and how to move forward in a way that feels possible.

 I know this struggle first-hand.
I’ve spent years people-pleasing, dealing with complex relationships, identity struggles, and childhood trauma—trying to meet expectations that didn’t fit me.

My training and personal therapy helped me break free, trust myself, and reclaim my life. Now, I help others do the same: let go of guilt, set boundaries, and build real confidence.

If you're tired of feeling like this, therapy can help.
Send me a message if you're ready to talk.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
