About me

"No mountain is insurmountable, and no storm so rough, that they should be travelled alone". I am dedicated to helping others become free of what is holding or distressing them, and to regain a life they can love. Therapy CAN really help and the sooner you begin, the sooner you can start that journey. I'd love to hear from you! Text Sharon on 07902429787 for that first step!

What Can I Offer You?

Working together in person in a private homely setting (easy parking), online or by phone. I offer a reduced introductory session of £25 so you can experience first hand its benefits, to talk over immediate worries, ask questions and gain some essential techniques that can help you begin to feel less distressed and stronger. This is a great way for you to find out if you'd like to work together. Normal sessions are £45 but I want to make therapy available to you - so if you are struggling - just ask! I love to see my clients find healing and begin to enjoy this journey of life, whatever walk you are on.

Full qualified and trained in a variety of models, we can focus on what is most effective to promote healing and insight for you, to work with your preferences, and help you see change all the sooner. Therapy is about healing, helping you find answers, your happiness, and your love for life. We do this in a kind, gentle way with a curious outlook.

These include:

Cognitive Therapy (including CBT), a focus on the hows, whats, whys of the thought process and its influence.

Psychodynamic, providing helpful insights into our feelings and beliefs, early life influences, attachment styles, and ways of relating from past to present.

Humanistic, with an emphasis on individuality, your own beliefs, values, strengths, and ability to govern your life from a place of personal aptitude.

Meditational Practice, which simply grounds and provides more self awareness of where you hold tension, how to release and begin to relax, how to breathe properly, and how to gain clarity and ease anxious thinking which can be pervasive.

Solution Focused Therapy, which concentrates on what you 'really want', on how, when, and which manner best serves you using techniques such as 'SMART goals'.

I also provide therapy utilising Positive psychology and compassion, which combined create more robust self-esteem, and enhanced meaning and interaction in life.

Please check out my website above for further information.

I'd love to encourage you to take this step for a better journey ahead - Feel free to email me at goodtogocounselling@gmail.com or text Sharon on 07902 429787.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
