About me
Welcome
Sometimes life throws up challenges and it just feel tough — and that’s OK. This is when counselling can offer you a safe space to talk things through with a counsellor/therapist. Whether it means sailing through the storm, re-routing to avoid it, or heading back to port until the storm passes- the way forwards is what you choose; the one that feels the right for you.
Unique Paths
Every seafaring journey involves stepping into uncertainity: some days bring sunshine, fair winds, and smooth sailing; other days bring storms and rough seas. A client embarking on counselling will step into a unique journey of self-discovery by bringing focus to the life issue that is causing them concern.
About Me
My path into counselling grew from a deep curiosity about what it is to be a human being — we are all born with internal resources that help us to cope with and overcome life's challenges. Even when it feels like we've reached an impass counselling can help clients find their way through and out of the woods. I started my professional career working as a graduate engineer in the chemical process industries before training and qualifying as a counsellor/therapist.
My Counselling Approach
The Person-Centred Approach to counselling is at the heart of the way I work with my clients. In everyday terms, this means I see you as the expert in your own life— together, in counselling, we will explore the issue(s) you would like to focus on and I will support you through the changes you would like to experience in your life.
I offer my clients a confidential private space that is supportive, safe, and empowering. I also take a trauma-informed approach to working with my clients to ensure safety of the client.
How to Contact Me
The easiest way to contact me is to send me an Email. I aim to respond to client enquiries swiftly and on the same day.
I offer new clients a 15-minute introductory phone call — a chance for us to have a chat and for you to get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
