About me
Seema Patel - Integrative Therapist for Relationships, Self-Worth and Boundaries.
Do you often feel unseen or unheard, as though you are doing what is best for everyone else while losing sight of your own needs?
Do you put others first, struggle to set boundaries or feel guilty when you prioritise yourself?
Are you in relationships that leave you feeling lonely, isolated or misunderstood, wondering why the same patterns keep repeating?
As a qualified integrative psychotherapist, I offer a place to make sense of how you are feeling and explore what you need. Our earlier relationships, difficult experiences and the expectations we grow up with can shape how we see ourselves and relate to others. Together, we can explore these patterns and how they affect you today.
Having lived in the US, UK and India, I understand how our culture, family and sense of belonging can shape who we are and how we experience the world. As a mother of two, and having spent years working in the corporate world, I also appreciate the challenge of balancing competing demands, meeting others' expectations and finding time for yourself.
I value equality, diversity and inclusion, and welcome clients of all backgrounds, genders and sexualities.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
A space to understand yourself and discover who you are beyond what is expected of you.
I work empathically and relationally, believing that a strong therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change. When you feel safe enough to be vulnerable, we can explore difficult experiences together, with gentle challenge where it deepens understanding and opens up new perspectives.
My integrative approach draws on psychodynamic, humanistic and transpersonal thinking, and I tailor our work to you rather than following a set programme. I pay attention to what happens between us in the room, alongside the influence of family, friendships, work, culture and community. Exploring the past can help us understand the present, while staying with what you are experiencing here and now.
My work with Home-Start supporting families with young children deepened my understanding of how early relationships and attachment shape emotional wellbeing across generations.
You can come as you are. Nothing is too big or too small to bring, and you do not need to know where to start or have the right words. We can begin wherever you are and move at a pace that feels right for you. Over time, the aim is to reconnect with your needs and values and to have greater choice in how you live and relate to others.
