About me

I offer a space where you can talk openly about whatever is going on in your life, without feeling you have to put on a brave face or have all the answers.

My experience supporting people affected by serious and long-term health conditions has given me a particular understanding of how illness, uncertainty and life-changing events can affect not only the person directly involved, but also those closest to them.

You may be dealing with something specific, such as anxiety, grief or a difficult life change, or you may simply feel that things aren't quite right. Whatever brings you to counselling, you don't need to know exactly where to start.

I work in a person-centred way, which means we focus on what matters to you, rather than following a set formula. My aim is to offer a genuine, accepting space where you can explore things in your own time and find a way forward that feels right for you.

I offer online counselling and face-to-face sessions in Lewes. I also offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call, so we can have an initial conversation and you can decide whether you'd feel comfortable working with me.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have several years of experience supporting people affected by serious and long-term health conditions through my work with The Brain Tumour Charity and The Wren Project, including individuals and families affected by brain tumours and autoimmune conditions.

I have also gained counselling experience through my placement with NHS Talking Therapies, supporting people affected by cancer, as well as relatives and carers.

My training and experience have given me a strong foundation in person-centred counselling and an understanding of the emotional challenges that illness, uncertainty, grief and significant life changes can bring.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
