About me

A bit about Me
I have been in private practice for over 12 years helping client with long- and short-term work. As a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Relational Counsellor accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) for 12 years, also undertaking advanced training in Integrative Psychotherapy to enhance my practice. My intention is to hold a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. My work is grounded in the relational model, allowing me to tailor our sessions to your individual needs and unique circumstances.

My Counselling Approach
I provide a compassionate, respectful, and non-judgemental space where you are free to talk openly about anything you may be struggling with, whether it feels confusing, painful, or difficult to express elsewhere. My aim is to sit alongside you at your pace, offering gentle support that empowers you to understand yourself more deeply and make meaningful changes in your life.

The foundation of my practice is the Relational Approach, this means we will explore the underlying patterns and past experiences that shape your present, while always holding a space of empathy, acceptance, and genuine connection.

Alongside the Relational Model, I draw on a range of therapeutic theories including attachment theory, relational needs, and Gestalt therapy. This integrative approach allows us to work flexibly and creatively, choosing what will be most helpful and healing for you as an individual.

What You Can Expect
·      A Safe Space: Sessions are confidential, and your privacy is of utmost importance.

·      Empathy and Acceptance: You will be met with understanding and respect, regardless of what you bring to our sessions.

·      Pace That Suits You: There is no rush; we work at a pace that feels right for you.

·      Collaboration: Therapy is a partnership your voice and agency are at the centre of our work together.

·      Personal Growth: Our work is aimed at helping you understand yourself, overcome difficulties, and move towards a more meaningful life.

Areas I Work With
I support clients facing a wide range of challenges, including but not limited to:

·      Anxiety and stress

·      Relationship difficulties

·      Low self-esteem and self-worth

·      Bereavement and loss

·      Trauma and childhood experiences

·      Life transitions and identity

·      Depression and low mood

How We Begin
Starting therapy can feel daunting, but I hope to make the process as comfortable as possible. We will begin with an initial meeting to discuss what has brought you to therapy and to see if working together feels like the right fit. From there, we can agree on the best way forward, whether that is short-term focused work or longer-term exploration.

Contact and Availability
I offer both in-person and online sessions, making therapy accessible wherever you are.

Finding the right counsellor can be a difficult process which is why I offer an initial chat before we decide if we want to start to work together, this can either take place over the phone or face to face.

Please feel free to contact me with any further questions you may have, I will be happy to help, please note if I do not answer your call I will endeavour to call or email you back as soon as possible.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Psychotherapeutic Counselling Diploma and am a UKCP accredited therapist.

The model that I have trained in is the Relational Approach. This combines the analytical aspect of the Psychodynamic Approach with the warmth of Person Centred therapy. I also consider other theories in my practice such as Transactional Analysis and Gestalt therapy.
