About me

Hello, my name is Sarah. I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I offer a warm, safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore the issues that are stopping you making the most of your life.

During these difficult times when face to face is not available, I am offering counselling sessions online via Zoom/Skype or on the phone. I offer a free introductory session. Please contact me for more information on 07913 424388 or message me.

How counselling can help

Life doesn't always run smoothly and it can bring various challenges which can sometimes feel overwhelming. Counselling can provide you with the time and space to make sense of how and why you feel the way you do and help you learn better ways of coping.

I understand that it can be hard to open up and share your inner most thoughts and concerns with someone, especially someone you don’t know. We all have things on our minds that we feel we cannot raise, even with our closest family and friends. I provide a warm and safe environment to discuss these matters where you will not be judged.  You will find that even just being able to verbalise your thoughts can be very therapeutic.

I can help you with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, generalised anxiety disorder, feeling sad, relationship issues, childhood abuse, loss & bereavement and low self-esteem.  We will work together at a pace that suits you.

I have also worked for the last 2 years at a local charity in Poole supporting adults who suffer from the effects of childhood abuse. This includes working with dissociation, post traumatic stress and anxiety.

Whatever is bringing you to counselling, I believe that we all can grow and achieve our potential and that a positive therapeutic relationship can greatly aid this process. Everyone is unique, every issue is different and we can discuss the best approach for your needs so you get the best you can from our sessions.

Introductory Session

I believe that it is important to find a therapist who you feel comfortable with. I therefore offer a free initial appointment so that we can discuss your needs and ascertain if you feel we could work together, with no obligation.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and are usually scheduled weekly, at the same time.

Regular and consistent sessions help develop the therapeutic relationship and help clients make effective progress.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.
