About me

Are you struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues or just feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you feel stuck in a rut and life is passing you by?

Finding someone to talk to outside of your everyday life can really help to process and understand what is going on for you and help you get the most out of life.

I am a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor specialising in online and telephone counselling. I provide a friendly, safe and confidential space, where you will not be judged, allowing you to explore and make sense of whatever is troubling you, from the comfort of your own home.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of issues such as anxiety,  low self esteem, sadness, family & relationship issues, stress, depression, low self confidence, social anxiety and lack of direction.

I also have 2 years experience working for a respected local charity in Poole supporting adults who suffer from the effects of emotional, sexual and physical childhood abuse. This includes additional training and experience of working with complex trauma, post traumatic stress and generalised anxiety disorder.

I believe that everyone is unique, every issue is different, therefore I tailor sessions and draw from different approaches to help you get the most from your counselling.

How counselling can help.

Life doesn't always run smoothly and with it bring various challenges which can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Counselling can provide you with the time and space to make sense of how and why you feel the way you do, help you you learn better ways of coping.

It can be hard to open up and share your inner most thoughts and concerns with someone, especially with someone you don't know.  We all have things on our minds that we feel we cannot raise, even with our closest friends and family.  You will find that even just being able to verbalise your thoughts can be very therapeutic.

Whatever is bringing you to counselling, I believe that we can all grow and achieve our potential and that a positive therapeutic relationship can greatly aid this process.

Making that first step to see a counsellor can be difficult.

Making that first step to see a counsellor can be daunting.  I understand that it is important to find a therapist who you feel comfortable with.

I therefore offer a free initial appointment, without obligation, to discuss your needs and to answer any questions you may have.  Please email me on the link above or call me on 07913 424388 to arrange.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
