About me
Our relationship will, almost certainly be the most important part of our work together. I therefore offer a free introductory 30 minute session for you to see whether you think you will feel comfortable working with me. If you decide that you will, during our hourly sessions I will listen, without judgement to whatever you would like to tell me about you and your particular situation. We then work together to gain greater understanding which gives you the ability to resolve issues and make positive choices in life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained as a Person Centred Counsellor but am more integrative in the way I work now. For 13 years I worked with families who had experienced trauma. Their experiences had left them with a legacy of all sorts of behaviours including addiction, attachment disorders, depression, anxiety, self harm and hostile and defiant behaviour. I was privileged to be trained by the Anna Freud Centre in the reduction of trauma related behaviours to facilitate better relationships.
Before having a family of my own, I worked with ASD students and their families.
Now I have a private counselling practice alongside working in a primary school providing additional needs support.
