About me
Person-Centred Counselling for Anxiety, Overwhelm and Burnout
Opening up and talking about what you’re going through can feel difficult, especially when things feel confusing, overwhelming, or hard to put into words.
You may be feeling stuck, anxious, emotionally overloaded, or unsure of who you are or where you fit. This can also include experiences linked to
- neurodiversity
- chronic stress
- burnout, or fatigue, where your energy, focus, or capacity doesn’t always match the demands placed on you.
A Supportive Space to Slow Things Down
I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where we can gently begin to make sense of things together.
We work at your pace, helping you slow things down enough to hear yourself more clearly beneath overwhelm, pressure, or self-doubt.
Where it feels helpful, we can also explore pacing and energy management, including how to work with your limits rather than constantly pushing past them. I also bring a personal understanding of how easy it is to override what your mind or body is asking for, and how frustrating the consequences of that can be.
Making sense of things together
People often come to me after feeling alone, misunderstood, or after trying advice that hasn’t quite fitted their experience.
You might recognise patterns such as:
- pushing through and then crashing
- feeling like you “should” be coping better
- continuing despite your mind or body asking for something different
In our work together, we focus on understanding your internal experience more clearly, so you can begin to:
- recognise your needs earlier
- communicate them more confidently
- find ways of living that feel more sustainable
Building Clarity, Self-Understanding and Sustainability
Together we begin to make sense of what feels overwhelming or unclear, so you can find a way forward that feels steadier, more manageable, and more aligned with who you are.
Session Information
I offer online counselling sessions during weekdays and evenings, as well as walk-and-talk sessions in the Loughborough area during daylight hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
Experienced Counsellor
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy.
Integrative, Body-Aware Counselling Approach
Alongside this, I integrate approaches such as ACT, polyvagal theory, and somatic, felt-sense work. I support you in building a more compassionate and trusting relationship with yourself, rather than feeling like you have to push through or override your needs. If you’re experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, or periods of shutdown, we gently bring attention not only to anxious or overwhelming thoughts, but also to what you’re feeling in your body and nervous system.
I have over 15 years’ experience supporting people across emotional, physical, and mental health challenges, including within the NHS as a Health Coach and Social Prescriber.
Supporting Chronic Fatigue, Burnout and Neurodiversity
Much of my work has involved supporting people with long-term health conditions, chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, and neurodiversity (including ADHD, dyslexia and autism), where pacing, managing energy, and finding sustainable ways of coping and reducing overwhelm are essential.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
