About me

I am an Arts Therapist (Music Therapy) with 13 years experience working with children, young people and adults.

I have experience as a support worker and children's residential worker which has greatly shaped my practice as a therapist. I believe that offering appropriate emotional support to children and young people gives them the best chance of developing into adults who feel equipped to manage the many stressors of life.

Often, when meeting with a parent to discuss a referral for their child for therapy, their own childhood story finds its way into the conversation. As adults we often bring our inner child in to our everyday interactions and relationships, and I aim to give both the adult and child space to be heard, understood and accepted in my practice, whether verbally or using creative materials or a combination of these.

  • MSc Psychoanalytic Observation and Reflective Practice, Human Development Scotland, 2016
  • Integrative Supervision of Individuals and Groups, Grove Practice, 2023
  • Supportive Music and Imagery, Integrative GIM, 2023

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
