About me
Are you feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed coping with the challenges of life? I can offer a safe and confidential space to explore your life and the challenges you are facing. Perhaps you are experiencing negative thoughts or a low mood and are finding it difficult to experience any joy in life or are having difficulties connecting with others? Are you feeling underconfident in your abilities to deal with life's challenges. Perhaps the patterns of thinking or behaviour that previously helped you cope with life are no longer helping you?
I’m a qualified counsellor and I have experience supporting clients who have experienced stress, mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression and clients who have experienced bereavement and loss.
I have experience working as a freelance counsellor at a local wellbeing centre and have previously worked for a charity offering counselling and am also a former Samaritans volunteer.
I have an interest in meditation and mindfulness as I believe that being aware of the present moment, our thoughts and feelings can calm our minds and help us to be more self-aware.
What I offer
I offer the psychodynamic approach to counselling where we will explore how your current problems may be influenced by your past experiences. This approach helps you become more aware of your emotions and bring the unconscious into consciousness.
I offer both short-term (6-12 sessions) and long-term counselling either face to face, via zoom or over the telephone.
How to get started
To get started, please call or email me to set up an initial session so we can discuss what you would like to get out of counselling and whether your personal needs would be more suited to short-term or long-term counselling. If you are in agreement, I can then set up a second session and arrange to see you on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
