About me
Based in West Sussex/Hampshire for in-person appointments and also working remotely with clients all over the UK, I am a qualified Psychosexual Therapist and proudly Relate-trained Relationship Counsellor with twenty years' experience in clinical practice with couples and individuals. Working with people who seek to improve the health of their relationships is truly what I love to do.
I offer you the opportunity to come and explore your difficulties in a confidential and non judgemental space. There are no right or wrong agendas. I will meet you where you are and we will think together about the changes you wish to see. My aim is to help you increase your understanding, accept yourself with compassion and to help you feel more empowered in working through your challenges.
In individual work (whether you’re single or attached) I can help you process current difficulties or dilemmas and/or explore more broadly to help build your confidence in your own ability to communicate your needs and to make healthy relationship choices.
In Couple Counselling we can explore what’s possible in balancing both people’s feelings, needs, values and expectations to reduce conflict and improve honest and flowing communication. We can also work on reconnecting, rebuilding intimacy, nurturing closeness in your relationship or managing life-stage transitions, as required.
In my practice I have worked with a range of presenting issues including (but not limited to) communication difficulties, decline in intimacy, management of work-life pressures, dealing with the aftermath of an affair, strengthening personal boundaries, navigating relationship breakdown, addressing money-related tensions, conflict around differing parenting styles, adapting to life-stage changes (e.g. retirement, early parenthood), exploring sex-related difficulties and differences, rebuilding self-esteem after a breakup, handling feelings of jealousy and insecurity and exploring trust issues, facing illness, loss or bereavement, managing social and religious differences, balancing expectations in non-monogamous relationships and dealing with wider family conflict.
I have seen couples fall back in love with one another through the course of our work and I have helped other couples who wish to part peacefully. I have witnessed individual clients grow a renewed passion and commitment towards existing relationships and have helped others find the courage to move on from situations that weren’t right for them. I have worked with clients of differing ages, ethnicities, genders, abilities and sexual orientations and it is my utmost privilege to have never heard the exact same story twice.

Further information
We will start with a free consultation telephone call to discuss the main difficulties you’re facing and assess whether I can offer the help you’re looking for. If we decide to work together we will then schedule a regular ongoing weekly 50-minute appointment either in person at my Petersfield practice room or via webcam (Zoom) or telephone.
I am open to working in a time-limited way (i.e. a set number of sessions) according to scheduling or budgetary constraints or to embarking on a longer, open-ended piece of work. In either case, I will ensure both early on in the work and throughout our time together that we review your experience of the process to ensure the sessions continue to be the right fit for what you need.
