About me

Thanks for stopping by... I’m Sara, a BACP-registered Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Systemic Practitioner.

I offer individual counselling for adults (18+) who are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, confidence or identity concerns, grief, loss, or the impact of painful life experiences. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or unsure of who they are or what they need, particularly following periods of stress, trauma, or significant change. Counselling offers a calm, supportive space to pause, reflect, and begin making sense of what’s going on beneath the surface.

I work sensitively with people who have experienced abuse or other forms of trauma, offering a safe, non-judgemental space where experiences can be explored at a pace that feels manageable. My approach prioritises emotional safety, choice, and collaboration, helping clients build trust in themselves as well as in the therapeutic relationship.

Relationship difficulties often sit at the heart of people’s struggles and can show up as people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, fear of abandonment, or feeling lost within relationships. Through individual therapy, I support clients to explore relationship patterns, understand emotional responses, and develop healthier, more secure ways of relating to others.

Alongside individual work, I also offer couples and family sessions for those navigating relational challenges together. I am a BACP-registered Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Systemic Practitioner, and I work using an integrative, relational, and systemic approach. This means I draw on psychodynamic, person-centred, body-based, and creative methods to explore patterns, relationships, and wider context, supporting insight, clarity, and emotional resilience.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I don’t see counselling as something that “fixes” you, but as a process of developing self-understanding, self-compassion, and self-trust. Clients often come to therapy wanting to feel calmer, more confident, and more grounded in themselves. Therapy can support you to reconnect with your sense of identity, strengthen self-esteem, and navigate change or loss with greater resilience.

Sessions are tailored to you and are available in person or online. If life feels overwhelming, stuck, or confusing, I offer a welcoming space to explore what’s weighing on you and to move towards meaningful and lasting change.

If this sounds like it might be helpful, please do get in touch — I’d be glad to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
