About me
You've recognised your need for help and are now seeking a counsellor who can provide you with the understanding, guidance, and techniques to enable you to make effective changes in your life. Whether it's short-term sessions or for longer, whether in-person, online, or over the phone, our goal will be to enable you to understand and manage your immediate emotional disquiet and to provide you with the means to empower change.
I offer integrative therapy drawing predominantly on person-centred and existential approaches with use of cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic therapies, when appropriate. I'm experienced in supporting people suffering with anxiety and panic attacks, low mood and depression, low self-esteem and self-confidence, difficult relationships, loss, bereavement and grief, and challenging life stages.
I consider every client-counsellor alliance to be unique and believe it forms the foundation for a successful therapeutic relationship. Based on warmth and empathy, honesty and confidentiality, non-judgement and self-empowerment, I invite you into such a relationship.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Training, qualifications & experience
With a BACP accredited Diploma in Integrative Counselling and as a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), you can be assured that throughout our relationship I will adhere to their stringent ethical framework.
Having worked within a busy NHS primary care GP surgery and as a listening volunteer with a national helpline, I am experienced in therapeutically supporting people struggling with a range of mental health issues.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
With the relationship between client and counsellor being so important, I offer a free introductory phone consultation (approx. 15 mins) giving us the chance to get to know each other a little and talk about therapy before considering working together.
Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes either in-person near Tunbridge Wells, Kent (parking spaces available), online, or over the phone.
You are more likely to make progress in your therapy if you can commit to regular appointments. Sessions are ideally on a weekly basis but may be fortnightly or at other intervals by agreement.
I offer daytime and evening appointments, Monday to Friday.
Sessions are £50 each, with concessionary rates for students and trainee counsellors.
