About me
Hi, I’m Samia, a pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist.
I don’t believe there’s a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Everyone’s experience is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. That’s why I integrate different methods and approaches, depending on what feels right for you, and I’m flexible as your needs change over time.
My aim is to build a trusting and genuine relationship where we can explore things together at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you.
I work in a trauma-informed way, with people experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:
• Anxiety and stress: Whether it’s racing thoughts, constant worry, or the physical tension that anxiety brings, we’ll work together to find ways to bring calm and clarity to your life.
• Depression: Life may feel heavy or drained of color, and even small tasks can feel overwhelming. Together, we can explore the root causes of your feelings and begin to rediscover hope and purpose.
• Relationship issues: Whether it's feeling disconnected from a partner, struggling with family dynamics, or experiencing conflict in friendships, we’ll explore how you can create healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
• Low self-esteem and self-doubt: Many people struggle with feeling "not good enough" or constantly comparing themselves to others. In therapy, we’ll explore how you can cultivate self-compassion and build a stronger sense of self-worth.
• Perfectionism: If you feel like you’re constantly trying to meet impossible standards or fearing failure, we can explore how to embrace imperfection and let go of the need to always be “perfect.”
• Burnout and exhaustion: The pressures of everyday life, work, or caregiving can leave you feeling depleted. We’ll look at ways to prioritize your well-being and restore balance in your life.
• Grief and loss: If you’re navigating the pain of losing a loved one or struggling with a major life transition, we’ll create a space to honour your grief and begin healing.
• Trauma and childhood experiences: Past experiences can have a lasting impact on how we see ourselves and relate to others. Together, we’ll gently work through difficult memories or patterns that may be holding you back.
• Life transitions: Whether it’s a change in career, becoming a parent, or moving through menopause, I’m here to support you as you navigate these pivotal life
moments.
I see our sessions as a collaborative effort, grounded in trust, open dialogue and a deep respect for your unique perspective. It's not about finding the perfect answer, but about having the support to explore your feelings and experiences in a safe, non-judgmental space.
You can learn more about my approach in the further information section below.
I offer therapy in both French and English.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have a special interest in burnout and parenting, as well as perinatal and women mental health.
Burnout and parenting issues
Burnout is something I see often—whether it’s work-related or the intense, often invisible pressures of parenting. It is not uncommon for people to feel like they’re just keeping their head above water, and I’m here to help you regain a sense of balance and clarity. I’m passionate about this work because I understand how transformative it can be to reclaim your life from stress and exhaustion.
Perinatal Mental Health
When it comes to perinatal mental health, I support both mothers and fathers who may be grappling with birth trauma, postpartum challenges, or the emotional complexities of adjusting to parenthood. The transition to parenthood can be overwhelming, especially in today’s world where isolation has become more common. Whether you're struggling with the early days of parenting, managing unexpected emotions, or navigating the strains on your relationships, I’m here to help you process these experiences and find ways to reconnect with yourself and those around you.
Women’s Well-being
I have a profound interest in women’s well-being, driven by a deep commitment to supporting women through the various phases of their lives. With a solid understanding of women’s cycles and hormone health, I approach each individual’s experience both holistically and systemically. Whether navigating the transformative journey of motherhood or addressing the often overlooked challenges of peri-menopause and menopause, I provide a compassionate and comprehensive space. My aim is to help women embrace these pivotal moments with grace and self-compassion, fostering a sense of empowerment and overall well-being throughout their journey
Trauma Informed
Being trauma-informed means recognizing how trauma affects both your mind and body. Trauma isn’t just a mental experience—it also lives in the body, influencing how you feel physically and emotionally.
In a trauma-informed approach, I focus on creating a safe and supportive space for you. We move at a pace that feels comfortable, carefully addressing your experiences without overwhelming you.
This approach ensures that therapy respects your boundaries, helping you feel safe, understood, and empowered throughout your healing journey.
