About me

Mental health is just as important as physical health. I am a trauma-informed cognitive behaviour therapist, registered mental health nurse and coach, and provide mental health support and CBT counselling in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.

I have extensive experience in helping people work through a wide range of difficulties affecting their mental health and wellbeing in their personal or working lives, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma or PTSD.

I also see clients who experience more severe or complex mental ill health, who are supported by their GP but who also wish to explore and address issues such as those above.

Therapy with me

I offer a safe, compassionate, and confidential space, using the active approach of CBT counselling, and related therapies where appropriate, such as ACT, CFT, Mindfulness Based CBT (adapted to be trauma informed), to help my clients to recover their wellbeing, reclaim their sense of self and move forwards with their lives.

It can feel daunting to reach out for therapy, especially when you may be feeling 'stuck' or not sure where to start, but once the first step is taken it can feel like a relief.

Previous clients have fed back on how they have benefited from my warm, welcoming and professional approach, whilst also quickly getting to the root of issues and enabling positive progress and change. It is always a privilege to be alongside my clients on their journey.

I also offer a no obligation, free of charge call to discuss your needs and expectations from therapy, and to answer any questions you may have- it's important you find a therapist that you feel is right for you. Please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
