Hi I'm Sam, thank you for checking out my profile. I am a qualified, integrative therapist and supervisor, I am registered with the BACP and based in the centre of Stockport. I am committed to making a difference to each and every one of my clients, by providing a caring, compassionate, safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space to explore your emotions and the impact of life events. I believe there is no single way to approach emotional disturbances and so, I encompass CBT, Transactional Analysis and Person Centred theories into my practice to ensure the best possible outcome for each and every client on their individual journey.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have successfully worked with clients to overcome many issues including depression and general low mood, stress and anxiety, abuse, including domestic abuse, sexual abuse and childhood abuse, loss and bereavement including loss of a pregnancy or child, self-harm and suicidal ideation and PTSD including childbirth trauma. I also have experience of body image issues, menopause and fertility issues and self exploration if you are feeling lost or unsure of yourself.
I offer face-to-face sessions in a warm comfortable and private therapy room in Stockport, I can also offer on-line and telephone counselling or home visits depending on your needs and requirements. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need support.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
