About me
I am an integrative humanistic and psychodynamic counsellor & CranioSacral Therapist - with experience working in private practise, the NHS and the voluntary sector. I offer both long and short term talking therapy with somatic and embodiment and the option to combine talking therapy with Biodynamic body work for a fully integrated somatic approach.
Across a lifetime we can encounter many transitions and events that can shake us. These events accumulate and you might find something unexpected becomes the straw that breaks the camels back. The sense of ourselves we previously had, shatters and we struggle to make sense of our place in the world. This can manifest as burnout, anxiety, depression, ocd, addiction and many other behaviours. It can feel enormously destabilising and lead to relationship problems, physical illness and a general sense of dissociation, dis-ease and low functioning - experiences that can occur at any age.
Having a safe confidential space at these times can be very helpful as you find your path to the other side.
Whether the events in question are past or present; and wherever you are on the spectrum of the severity of the effects - working with me offers a chance to integrate the parts of yourself, and your life, that may have become fragmented.
Over time therapy will leave you not only feeling whole again, but more fully able to connect and inhabit a revised sense of your Self for maximum enjoyment and potential in life.
My psychotherapeutic work is fundamentally relational, but my grounding principle is to understand each client from a holistic bio-psycho-social perspective and to address all the elements of your experience of yourself in relationship to others and the world around you, including connection to your body.
Being an integrative therapist allows me to work in a number of different ways according to your needs, including with Somatic Body Work. Please see my website for further information.
I work with a broad base of clients and this includes ADHD & Autistic people & those with other Neurodiversities. I work not as a coach in these instances, but to understand life to that point, and the ways in which Neurodiversity has shaped life experience and sense of self of my (often late diagnosed) clients. This is deep compassionate work leading to radical acceptance and authenticity.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
