About me

I am a UKCP accredited Gestalt Psychotherapist with 25 yrs experience. I believe strongly in the possibility of growth and transformation through deepening awareness. Gaining new insights can enable you to arrive at your own informed decisions and create new choices. I am dedicated to a relational approach, valuing the relationship between client and therapist as key to healing.

I attend to the 'here and now', exploring how our past experience may be played out in the present. In this way we can look out for repeating patterns which are no longer useful and may be blocking satisfaction and fulfilment. I will attend directly to body processes and non-verbal communication as there is an acknowledgment that our body can hold our emotional history.

I will provide a safe respectful and empathic setting, working creatively to support and gently challenge.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

If there are any questions you have, or feel unclear about what is on offer or whether I would be able to work with the issues you bring, call or e-mail me and we can discuss it further.

Our first consultation is £40 and is an opportunity to meet before committing to regular sessions. It is a time for both of us to find out about each other. Clients can gain more information about the process of psychotherapy and how I work and equally it enables me to learn about your issues and what you may be looking for in therapy. Collaboratively we can discuss how we go forward from there.
