I am a qualified, accredited and experienced counsellor working in private practice in Stoke Newington, North London. My hours are flexible and I can work with clients on weekdays and weekends, either daytime or evening. In this current climate I offer a variety of on-line counselling, including telephone, Skype, Zoom and Whatsapp; I can also now offer face-to-face sessions, safely, in my home environment.
I have worked with a wide range of issues, particularly to do with relationships, work, family, childhood, stress, depression and anxiety. I can provide a friendly, safe, 1-1 environment in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings, enabling you to enhance your life and move forward.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and my counselling qualification is a BACP Accredited Diploma and Foundation degree. I trained in Person Centred Counselling but I draw from a wide range of theories in my work, such as psychodynamic and attachment theory.
Prior to setting up my own practice, I worked as a lecturer, academic manager and counsellor for many years in a multi cultural Further Education College, in which the students had a wide range of problems. There was a thriving counselling service and I enjoyed working with a large number of diverse and challenging clients, supporting them to achieve success in their studies and personal lives.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
