About me
Hi, my name is Sal, and I'm a person-centred counsellor based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
I am lucky to feel as though I can offer you a tailored approach, as I believe the theraputic relationship is one of the most important parts of the journey. What this means is that I work with you, by learning what has either worked for you in the past, or what could work for you in the now. I offer a creative, flexible approach, which could mean outlining a mind-map, so we can work through what you would like to focus on; or just talking through a situation in order to gain insight.
As thoughts and feelings come up, I will invite you to fully experience your thoughts and feelings within your body, and together we can engage with moving through them. I will always keep your safety in mind when engaging with mind/body work, and will never pressure or expect you to move through a practice that feels like a threat.
I have clinical experience in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, ADHD, Autism, bereavement, burnout, chronic fatigue/illness, disabilities, gender dysphoria, LGBTQIA+, BPD, loneliness, self harm, and stress.
I have lived experience of LGBTQIA+ issues, physical disabilities, chronic illness and Neurodiversity.
I offer a free, 10/15 minute phonecall or video chat where you are under no obligation to continue with sessions, but where we can see whether or not we would work well together.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
