About me
I'm an integrative counsellor, drawing on Person-Centred, CBT and Gestalt theories. My approach is warm, down-to-earth and collaborative. I work in a trauma-informed way and recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we can explore patterns that may be holding you back, make sense of how past experiences are affecting your present, and find ways to relate to yourself and others that feel healthier and more fulfilling. My aim isn’t to tell you what to do, but to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and feel more able to make choices that are right for you.
I’ve always been interested in the connection between our emotional and physical wellbeing. Alongside counselling, I am a trained yoga teacher and have spent time exploring how movement, body awareness, creativity and nature can support us. Sometimes we can explain our feelings in words; other times, we might notice them through tension in our bodies, a sense of restlessness or feeling disconnected from ourselves. If it feels helpful, we can explore these experiences together as part of our work.
Before starting in private practice, I worked in education settings supporting young people and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression and trauma. This has given me insight into the pressures people face, the impact these can have on confidence and relationships, and how difficult it can be to ask for help when we’re struggling.
If you’re considering counselling, you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start exactly where you are and explore what you need together.
