About me

I am a qualified counsellor with 20 years experience, specialising in working with couples and individuals, families and children, young people and teenagers.

I offer a confidential counselling service in South Leicestershire. I provide a safe place to explore what’s troubling you as an individual (adult or teenager), couple or family. I can support you to work through difficult life events and challenges which are impacting on your emotional well-being such as couple or family relationship problems, divorce & separation, argument and conflict, stress & anxiety, depression and bereavement.

Sometimes life can be challenging and you can feel under pressure. I give you the opportunity to talk in confidence about any difficulties you are facing. I will not take sides.

At times everyone feels worried or has problems that may be hard to talk about with the people close to you. You may worry about whether they will understand, whether you can trust them, whether they will blame you, or ignore your feelings. Together, we can explore your worries and problems and find ways to move forward that are right for you.

I will listen and support you without telling you what to do or judging you. I will ensure each member or of the couple or family has the opportunity to be heard. As everyone’s needs are different it is difficult to know whether the work will be short term or long term but that is something we can discuss and agree.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
