About me

My name is Roxy Linh-McCormack. I am a qualified Pluralistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist who works with adults (18+) 1:1, face-to-face in Dumfries and Online.

You may be considering making changes in your life or seeking support to address difficulties that are holding you back. You may be experiencing low self-esteem, having difficulty managing emotions or feeling dissatisfied in your relationships. You might be struggling following one or multiple traumatic experiences or having difficulty coping with life or the loss/death of someone.

Counselling isn't about life hacks, it’s about providing a space where you can speak openly about yourself, your life, and what you’re going through. It offers a chance to be heard and supported by someone who can help you better understand your thoughts and emotions.

As a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I believe in the power of therapy to support meaningful change. I also understand that taking the first step can feel daunting. That’s why I offer a confidential and compassionate space where we can explore difficult feelings, beliefs, and behaviours together. I bring warmth, empathy, and the occasional bit of humour — because being human matters here. If you're looking for a down-to-earth and supportive therapist, let’s connect.

What I can offer you

When we begin working together, my priority is to build a trusting relationship where you feel safe to explore your inner world. I draw from a broad range of professional experiences and training, tailoring my approach to suit your individual preferences and needs. My practice may incorporate person-centred therapy, CBT, psychodynamic approaches, and creative methods such as using stones, art, or writing.

I’ve supported clients facing a wide variety of challenges, and together we’ll work to build a shared understanding of where you are now and where you’d like to be.

I also have significant experience working with Unpaid Carers, retired individuals and individuals with Sensory Loss (including vision and hearing).

I am a queer-affirming therapist, meaning I respect individual LGBTQIA+ identities, have a working knowledge of LGBTQIA+ identities and common problems in the community and links to local resources.

PLEASE NOTE: Please check your spam email folder, I have been made aware of missed contact following potential client enquiries.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
