About me
My name is Roxy Linh-McCormack. I am a qualified Pluralistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist who works with adults (18+) face-to-face in Dumfries and Online.
You may be considering making changes in your life or seeking support to address difficulties that are holding you back.
You may be experiencing low self-esteem, having difficulty managing emotions or feeling dissatisfied in your relationships.
You might be struggling following one or multiple traumatic experiences or having difficulty coping with life or the loss/death of someone. It can be too difficult for some people to articulate exactly what impacts you.
Counselling offers a chance to talk about yourself, your life, and your challenges. It can allow you to speak to someone who may help you make sense of how you're feeling and thinking.
As a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I know that therapy can help. I also know that starting therapy can feel like a big and sometimes overwhelming step. I provide a safe and confidential space to explore difficult thoughts, beliefs, emotions and behaviours. I will listen with compassion and help you explore and better understand whatever is going on for you. If you need a straight-talking, kind (and human) therapist – lets connect.
What I can offer you
When commencing sessions, I draw on all the skills I have gained throughout my varied careers and training, adapting this skill set to fit with your preferred way of working. I may draw upon person-centred, CBT, Psychodynamic and creative practices (utilising stones/art or writing).
I have experience working with clients who have a wide range of difficulties. We will collaborate to gain a shared understanding of where you are and what your therapy goals are.
I have extensive experience working with Unpaid Carers and individuals with Sensory loss (Vision & hearing). I can also support with areas such as Anxiety, Bereavement, Burnout, Coping Skills, Caring roles, Dementia, Depression, Domestic Abuse, Emotional Abuse, LGBTQ+, Loneliness, Low self-esteem, low self-confidence, OCD, Relationship Problems, Self-harm, Separation and divorce, Sexual abuse, Stress, Sudden sensory loss, Suicidal Thoughts, Trauma, Work-related stress.
PLEASE NOTE: Please check your spam email folder, I have been made aware of missed contact following potential client enquiries.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
