About me

Hello, I’m Rosie (she/her), a Glasgow based person-centred counsellor.

My approach to therapy is very collaborative. Together, we can create a space where you can begin to process your emotions, have a space to be heard, and face some of the more difficult conversations to be had with yourself. I welcome creative ways of working together, prioritising creating a safe environment and opening a space to invite in challenge where appropriate.

As well as being an essential space to process our most difficult experiences, I believe that therapy doesn’t only have to be for tough times; it can also be a helpful space to develop a deeper understanding of yourself at any point. I understand the challenges of fitting counselling into your everyday life and offer a limited number of early morning and evening slots to make this a little easier.

I am also a qualified yoga teacher, with experience spanning over eight years. Yoga is a huge part of how I have supported myself in maintaining a therapeutic practice. I can bring elements of this into our sessions, such as breathwork (pranayama) or meditation techniques. This forms part of an individualised approach, depending on how you want to work and what you’re looking for from therapy.

I welcome clients from any background. I aim to create an open and welcoming space and am committed to continuing to educate myself and develop an anti-oppressive practice.

One of the most important aspects of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. It can be hard to get a sense of someone from one of these paragraphs, which is why I offer a free twenty-minute consultation call, so you can get a sense of whether you would like to start working together.

I appreciate the difficulty of fitting therapy around everyday life, so I offer a limited number of early morning and evening appointments to make this a little easier.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
